Split a dinner plate with my husband w/ po boy, double baked potato and salad (plus a relish tray) and it was plenty of food! Especially love the garlic sauce on the sandwich, you must try it! Very welcoming server and old school vibe. Plus the price was outstanding for the amount of food we got. The house dressing was a tad sweet for me, but other than that, all-star meal!

Awesome food and great service. Their Poor Boys can't be beat. I was in a private room upstairs for a birthday party. The personnel were attentive and the food was delivered in a timely manner.

This is a Joliet staple. I have been going there for over 20 years with family. The poor boys are legendary. The soup is always good too. The relish tray is old school with cottage cheese. Must try when in the area. Tastyfun.co on Instragram for more food reviews.

Great tasting food. Reasonably priced. Attentive service. Ate in the bar. Best onion rings I've had ever had! I had the chef salad, which was plentiful but served on a plate, which made it difficult to eat without getting it on table and floor. Came from Indiana and hope to return in time.

Merichka's is amazing. I've been eating here since I was a teenager(I'm 76 now)!! Still haven't had a bad meal, which is not surprising. Of course, the Poor Boy is the big deal here and rightly so. It's delicious and those pickles are great. You can't beat the onion rings either. Steaks and fish entrees are excellent as is the double baked potato. Also, Merichka's is a family owned and operated restaurant. The service is always good and the waitstaff is friendly and efficient. Try Merichka's(if you're one of the few who haven't) you'll love it!

What a long standing great place to enjoy something unique: The poor boy sandwich. The garlic butterine is the secret sauce that makes the sandwich out of this world! Anytime we're in the area - we ALWAYS go here! Are you gonna stink like garlic - yes! But so worth it!!!

The best po boy sandwich ever! This restaurant is a gem in the community. I don't recommend that you physically dine in, not exactly a welcoming environment in my opinion.

Heard so much about this Joliet landmark we had to try it. My wife ordered the steak poor boy sandwich that has made them famous. I chose the special of the day a breaded veal cutlet with mashed potatoes. The serving sizes were huge and could not be finished in one sitting. Although I was able to sample the steak poorboy which was amazing. Beware the garlic is what it is known for and did not disappoint! Bring breath mints for later . The veal was great and the mashed potatoes perfect for a family! Service was on wonderful. But the ambiance was northern Wisconsin supper club. Hilarious and the reason for age of the clients which seam to be retired! Enjoy!
